Uploading your site is very simple. Using an FTP program is the best way to upload your site. Please take a moment to learn an ftp program as this will save you time and hassles.
Uploading Via FTP:
IP # or Server Address / Host = ftp.yourdomain.com
User Name = admin@yourdomain.com
Password = (your administrative password sent in your 'welcome email'
Always use "lower case letters" for user name and password. Also, the first page of your site should be named "index.html" or "index.htm". (always in lower case)
Once you are logged in to your site via an FTP program, you will see a directory called "mainwebsite_html". Double click on mainwebsite_html directory and upload your web pages. This is the short cut to the actual directory for your web pages i.e. /var/www/html/. Any pages uploaded to /var/www/html/ directory will be instantly visible on the Internet.Remember to replace the current index.html page with your own index.html page so that your pages can be seen on the Internet. For an excellent ftp program, we highly recommend LeapFTP.
Uploading Via FrontPage
If you have Microsoft Front Page extensions installed on your hosting you can upload your web pages using Microsoft FrontPage 2000 or above.
User name = admin
Password = same as your ftp password
PS: Please note that for ftp you have to use your full user name admin@yourdomain.com however for site control panel or for uploading via frontpage use only admin as your login name. Thank you!
